Biography Self Inflicted was started in October 2000, by guitarist/vocalist/drummer Keith McCormick and guitarist Brian Unruh. Drummer John Keese and bassist Chris Floyd joined shortly after that to complete the line up. The band recorded a 3 song demo and began playing live around Oklahoma. Despite having what seems to be a revolving door for a line up, Self Inflicted always manages to maintain their composure and rise to the occasion. During this time, the band had the privilege of sharing the stage with many national & regional acts such as Misfits, Testament, Joey Belladonna (formally of Anthrax), High On Fire, Weedeater, Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, Soilent Green, Goatwhore, Prong, The Black Dahlia Murder, All That Remains, A Perfect Murder, Watch Them Die, Malevolent Creation, Mnemic, Samothrace, Deadbird, Dare Diablo, Exhumed, Texas Hippie Coalition, Crooked X, Element, Spooky Fruit, Manifest Destiny, SkullPL8, Horse Called War, Dwell Within, Lycergus, Nothing Remains, Black Market Ministry, Music Hates You, Last Transgression, The Destro, Jacknife, and Dryline. Self Inflicted has also played the famed Milwaukee Metalfest in 2003, the Midwest Monsters of Metal Showcase in 2004, the Dallas Doom Daze Metal Festival in 2008, Heavycore.net’s Poser Roast numbers 7, 16, & 17, as well as countless benefit shows for local musicians and businesses. Self Inflicted has released a three song demo in 2001, and, so far, three self financed CDs: Punishment of Tomorrow, in 2002; Beyond the Agony of Never, in 2004; What Never Was...Will Never Be, in 2008. The band has also been featured on the following compilation CDs: Nightfall Records’ Milwaukee Metalfest 17; Heavycore Records’ Core til Death 3; Cordial Records’ International Touring Compilation; Infinite Records’ Compilation Vol. 1 & Vol. 2; Camp Fury Records’ Base Camp 001; Loco Diablo Records’ Underground Compilation CD Vol. 9 & Vol. 10. Self Inflicted continues to record and play live spreading their unique brand of Oklahoma Sludge through out the region’s metal scene, and beyond... |
