Biography Created by drummer Andy Ricketts and original bassist David Lee, Volatile was originally heavily influenced by Coal Chamber, and bringing an almost nu-metal sound to the already flooded nu-metal scene. Soon after conception Greg Brown joined the band. Influenced mainly by his father, a successful musician in New Orleans, and bands such as Megadeth, Slayer, and Arch Enemy, Greg Brown brought an ever changing sound to this now crawling band. Greg soon brought the arrival of his counterpart Chris Nilsen. This individual, bound for a rebellious existance, brought just the right energy and chaos to the band, a shit-load. His style (mainly influenced by Arch Enemy, Slayer, Death, Cradle of Filth, and In Flames), focusing on the opposite end of that of Gregs, brought an equal balance to the sound that would eventually become the basis to Volatile's music. The only thing this band needed was one more thing, a voice. Scourging through many vocalists on a rampage of perfection, the metal quartet came upon a creature. This college bound guitarist, was the damned figure they would soon come to know as Josh "MuTe" Owens-French, a demon of sorts in the aspect of vocals. After Josh's departure, the band needed a frontman to keep the same kick ass attitude of the group. The band turned to fan and good friend Dennis Breland. Dennis brings a very Brutal element to Volatile through his lyrics, voice, and stage presence. After the departure of orignal bassist David Lee, the band looked to Danny Klebba, a good friend of both Greg and Chris. With the arrival of Danny on bass, the band lineup is finally complete. This melodic, Death/Slayer influenced Thrash type metal band is bound for something greater, the throne of metal. Fully coming together shortly preluding the complete destructuion of the south by Katrina, Volatile has managed to bring a unique sound of death and destruction to the local scene of its area. Volatile has opened up for acts such as CATTLE DECAPITATION [METALBLADE RECORDS], and DAATH [ROADRUNNER RECORDS].
